SEGA World Drivers Championship

A new racing game from Sega will be on location test at the Sega GiGO Ikebukuro and at Sega Akihabara Gokan 1 from July 28 to 30.

SEGA World Drivers Championship is an officially licensed Super GT arcade game featuring 45 cars from both GT300 and GT500 classes.

The location test version features 3 GT300 cars (Toyota 86, Toyota Prius and Subaru BRZ) and 3 GT500 cars (Lexus, Nissan and Honda).

The full version will feature JAF-GT300 and FIA-GT 3 cars in the GT300 class (Japanese and international cars) and 15 teams in GT500 (Japanese cars only).

SEGA World Drivers Championship uses the same cabinet as Initial D Arcade Stage Zero with a AIME card reader and a 6-speed speed shifter. Only the steering wheel and the topper are different.

Up to 10 players can play simultaneously.

More info about SEGA World Drivers Championship:

- the steering wheel is equipped with a paddle shift that allows shift change at hand.
- a LED indicator is installed over the steering wheel: it displays speed, gear, tachometer, specified speed information for each corner
- the player becomes a member of the racing team and aim to win the championship. He gets advice and cheering from the team between races and he can also listen to the team radio by pressing the red button on the steering wheel while driving.
- a "Driver's skill" gauge is displayed on the game screen while driving. It increases depending on how the player drives good.

- les vitesses peuvent êtres changées au volant.
- un indicateur LED, installé au-dessus du volant, indique la vitesse, le rapport, le tachymètre et les informations sur la bonne vitesse pour chaque tournant.
- le joueur devient un membre d'une équippe et vise le championnat. Il reçoit des conseils et des encouragements de son équipe entre les courses et il peut aussi écouter son équipe à la radio pendant les courses en pressant le bouton rouge sur le volant.

SEGA World Drivers Championship Ver.2.2 is available since July 17.

A new course is implemented: the Okayama International Circuit actually used in SUPER GT.  The circuit can be played for a limited time at "events", "qualifying" and "main game" in the game.

Remix & new song are added to race BGM: remix songs from OutRun 2 ("Magical Sound Shower-SOUND! SHOCK Trace Ver.-") and original songs have been added. The sound creators Hiro joined the sound team and completely renewed BGM.

Driver icons and chat stamps can now be earned according to the season points earned in the "main game".

In the main game, the "X battle" appear,ed which determines the strongest driver. When the "license grade" that indicates the proficiency of the driver becomes "X1", you can try the "X battle", and by winning against the opposing driver, you will gain a proof of strength "Sp".

SEGA World Drivers Championship Ver.2.2 est disponible depuis le 17 juillet.

Un nouveau parcours est ajouté: le Circuit International d'Okayama qui est utilisé en SUPER GT.  Le circuit peut être joué pour une durée limitée lors d'événements, qualifications et dans le jeu principal.


Des remix et de nouvelles chansons sont ajoutés dans les BGM: des remix de chansons de OutRun 2 ("Magical Sound Shower-SOUND! SHOCK Trace Ver.-") et des chansons originales ont été ajoutés. Le créateurs sonore Hiro rejoint l'équipe de sons et a complètement renouvelé les BGM.

Les icônes de pilote et des stamps de chat peuvent maintenant être gagnés en fonction des points de saison gagnés dans le jeu principal.

Dans le jeu principal, le mode "X battle" apparait, elle détermine le pilote le plus fort. Lorsque la « catégorie de permis » qui indique la compétence du conducteur devient « X1 », le joueur peut essayer le « X Battle », et en gagnant contre le pilote adverse, il gagne une preuve de force « Sp ».

SEGA World Drivers Championship Ver.2.3 is available since January 29.

A new difficulty level "Lv.X ANOTHER" has been added to the single player mode and "rival racers" have appeared in the GT500 class and GT300 class.

Wave Master will release SEGA World Drivers Championship -Original Sound Track- on February 15.

The soundtrack CD includes 37 songs including BGM, a track featuring the live commentary of SUPER GT's official announcer Pierre Kitagawa and a bonus track Magical Sound Shower -SOUND! SHOCK Trance Ver.- feat. Pierre Kitagawa Edition featuring Pierre Kitagawa's live commentary on the well-known classic song.

All songs are mastered by the members of SEGA World Drivers Championship sound staff: Hitoshi Shimizu / Hiro Master / Keitarou Hanada. The booklet includes comments from SWDC sound director Hitoshi Shimizu.
