Whatever the cabinet, be it upright or candy, it doesn't matter to me as long as the screen is good (good brightness and vivid colors).
Everything depends on the game; I was impressed by the look of
Virtua Tennis 3 on Lindbergh cabinets but the game looks great on a Naomi cabinet too (despite the smaller screen, 4/3 aspect ratio and the much lower resolution).
For newer games, I would of course recommend Naomi, Net City, Atomiswave or Egret 3... In short, anything that supports 31kHz horizontal frequency. Most of the time, these games can be switched to 15kHz but graphics take a big hit then sometimes to the point you can hardly follow what happens on the screen! There are some exceptions to this:
KOF 98 - Ultimate Match on Type X looks terrible in 31kHz and looks a lot better in 15kHz! But it's an exception.
As for the design of the cab, I like the Atomiswave and Net City/Naomi the most.

Vewlix F I guess. After all, that's what they are made for...
But Type X games look damn good on Naomi cabs too... Just no widescreen.
